Materials
The very hungry caterpillar can be made in the colors and yarn of your choice. It is important to choose your hook size accordingly to your yarn. If you tend to crochet loosely, use a smaller hook than recommended to prevent the stuffing from escaping.
Mine was crocheted with Scheepjes Catona, using a
2,20 mm. hook. It measures approximately 16 cm long.

How to assemble ?
There is no right or wrong way to assemble. You can make your
caterpillar look however you like! You can even add body balls if
you want it longer or remove some and make a short caterpillar.
But for the record, this is how I did mine:
Before assembling, I laid down all the balls and head in the desired shape and took a picture. I stuffed the first ball and
attached it to the head. I laid down everything again, took a second pic, stuffed the second ball, attached it to the rest
and so on…. I took a pic and laid down the balls after each one because the sewing can sometimes make you original
shape move, so you can adjust each ball. And of course, I attached the tail ball last.
I made sure that all my balls were all lining up, but you can decide to not line them up. I also made sure that at least 2
balls were touching ground, to fix 4 legs on them. But it’s also optional. Fix the legs where you want! The assembling is
totally up to you, but it should be fun!
